These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Planet Computers website, booking system, and related services. By booking a repair, requesting a quote, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Bookings & Diagnostics
- All repairs begin with a diagnostic assessment to identify faults
- For complex board-level diagnostics, a bench fee may apply if you decline the repair (we'll confirm upfront)
- Turnaround times are estimates and may vary based on parts availability and fault complexity
- We may request a deposit for special-order parts or complex repairs
- Same-day service available for qualifying repairs (subject to availability)
3. Quotes & Pricing
- Quotes are valid for 7 calendar days unless otherwise stated
- All prices include VAT where applicable
- If additional faults are discovered during repair, we'll contact you for approval before proceeding
- Final pricing may differ from initial quotes if additional work is required and approved
4. Data, Backups & Liability
- Back up your data before handover - hardware can fail unexpectedly
- Planet Computers is not liable for data loss during repairs
- Provide any necessary passwords to allow testing (you may set temporary codes)
- We handle your information per our Privacy Policy
- Remove personal accounts (iCloud, Google, Find My Device) before service
5. Parts, Repairs & Warranty
- We use new or high-quality refurbished parts as quoted
- Fitted parts and workmanship carry a warranty of 3-12 months depending on the repair
- Warranty details are stated on your invoice
- Warranty excludes:
- New physical or liquid damage
- Misuse or unauthorized modifications
- Subsequent faults unrelated to the original repair
- Normal battery wear and tear
6. Payments
- Payment is due on collection unless otherwise agreed
- We accept card, EFT, cash, and mobile payments
- Devices are released once cleared payment is received
- Storage fees (R50/day) apply for devices left uncollected for more than 30 days after completion notice
7. Collections & Uncollected Devices
- We'll notify you via SMS/email when your device is ready
- Collection within 14 days of completion is appreciated
- After 90 days from first completion notice, and after reasonable attempts to contact you, the device may be recycled or disposed to recover costs as permitted by law
8. Trade-Ins & Sales
- Devices sold or traded must be your property and free of finance or liens
- You are responsible for removing personal data and accounts before sale/trade
- Trade-in values are estimates and may change upon physical inspection
- Payment for trade-ins made via EFT or cash
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Planet Computers is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our maximum liability related to a repair is limited to the amount paid for that specific repair.
10. Consumer Rights
These Terms are subject to your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
11. Changes to Services & Terms
We may update our Services or these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
12. Dispute Resolution
